- Summary
- SWORD OF TRUST starring Marc Maron (Joker, GLOW, Maron) is the last feature from the celebrated auteur Lynn Shelton (Your Sister's Sister, Laggies, Humpday), who sadly recently passed away. Produced by Joe Swanberg, it was released theatrically in the U.S. nationwide by IFC Films and received strong reviews for Maron's hilarious performance. Rounding out the ensemble cast is Jillian Bell (Brittany Runs A Marathon, Workaholics, Bill & Ted Face The Music), Michaela Watkins (Good Boys, Casual), and Jon Bass (Baywatch, Turner's Miracle Workers). Logline: When Cynthia and her wife Mary inherit a Civil War-era sword believed to be proof that the South actually won the war, they join forces with a cantankerous pawn shop owner to sell the sword to the highest bidder. The journey that ensues takes the ragtag bunch on a tour through the deep South and the minds of the local fanatics who inhabit it. Official Selection, SXSW. Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes
