- Summary
-
- "¿Quién mandó matar a Luis Donaldo Colosio?
- "Who had Luis Donaldo Colosio killed? That question persists 25 years after the largest political assassination in recent Mexican history. A crime with an investigation so surreal it makes the wildest novel pale in comparison. In Killing the Candidate, Bef and Francisco Haghenbeck have been given the task of carrying out their own investigation, in graphic novel format, through the character of Elsa, a young journalist who is commissioned to write a book on the subject . Supported by elements such as drawings or fables written by the confessed murderer, Mario Aburto, who was mysteriously taken for two hours to a beach, without a judicial presence, just after the Lomas Taurinas attack in Tijuana, the journalist will go looking for answers to the depths of the labyrinthine rottenness of Mexican justice and politics. In the end, the only certainty that will be The effect of Killing the Candidate is that citizens are mere spectators of a perverse theatrical spectacle, where the powerful in turn run the country at their will, sometimes without even bothering to hide their blatant acts of cynicism or ruthless corruption.
