Summary
A saga of the legendary seventeenth-century samurai, Miyamoto Musashi, set against the turmoil of a civil war. The film starts as two childhood friends, Takezo and Matahachi, are helped by a mother and daughter who rob the dead of their weapons and armors and sell them for living. When Takezo tries to return to his village he is hunted down by the victorious Tokugawa forces. Helped by a monk, Takezo begins his odyssey toward his enlightened years as a warrior
