Summary
"二十多年前，下乡知青李红梅与何福生恋爱结婚，生有一子何晨。李红梅带着何福生和何晨一起返城，何福生因为农民身份及没有工作被李红梅家人歧视嫌弃。因为一次意外事件，李红梅的弟弟李红兵面临坐牢，何福生无奈顶替其坐了牢，也因此与李红梅离婚。李红梅的好友沈雪因未婚先孕又欣赏何福生的能力，于是从劳改农场保出何福生与之结了婚，福生与沈雪为了更好的发展离开了故土山东，带着小何晨去深圳发展。多年后，福生与沈雪事业发迹，可他们的爱却越走越远。何福生突然被医生诊断出重症，自感时日不多，于是他决定带何晨回山东与亲生母亲李红梅团聚，并把事业带回自己的家乡。但是，沈雪和何晨都反对回山东，矛盾因此展开，前妻与后妻，生母与养母，何福生父子面临着人生再一次的选择……"--Container
