- Cristóbal Colón es uno de los personajes más importantes y conocidos de nuestra Historia Moderna. Sin embargo para la mayor parte del público la epopeya colombina finaliza como una empresa gloriosa en 1492 con el descubrimiento del continente americano. Pocos saben que después de esa fecha Colón cruzó otras tres veces el Atlántico y que, el mayor navegante de todos los tiempos, terminó sus días arruinado, enfrentado con los Reyes Católicos, sin saber que había descubierto un nuevo continente y con la sensación de haber fracasado en su objetivo de encontrar un paso marítimo occidental hacia los fabulosos reinos de Catay y Cipango
