- Moon Over Miami was a benefit event for the Miami Gay Support Committee which opposed Anita Bryant's "Save Our Children" campaign against homosexuals. The Moon Over Miami event included several entertainers with author Armisted Maupin as the master of ceremonies. Klein was successful in this venture and was involved with additional fundraisers. There are programs for a Hollywood Bowl event "A Star Spangled Night For Rights," "A Little Rights Music," the Concerned Voters of California No on 6 dinner program,and the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Parade and Celebration
- Biographical or historical data
- Allen Klein was born in New York, and attended Hunter College and Yale Drama School. He workedas an art director and scenic designer for CBS-TV in New York. He moved to the Haight District in SanFrancisco and established a silk screen business called The Works. He was a member of a gay fathers group in the 1970s.
