- Jay, a New York City hairstylist, gets hooked on heroin and subsequently quits his job to pursue his new passion: scoring one fix after another. The problem is, Jay's addiction isn't possible without a steady income, so he turns to petty crime. While stealing a car, he meets Parm, a non-junkie, and they begin a romance. Giving in to heavy pressure from Parm and the cops, Jay decides to go straight and become a snitch, but his choice plagues him with maddening guilt as he turns on those who used to be his friends
