- A painter and her young son retreat to the solitude of a remote seaside cottage after a death in the family. As the two attempt to rebuild their lives, the strange residents of Crescent Beach make their disturbing presence known. Their troubling actions are relatively benign at first, but ominous events escalate. The story's ending may change everything
